But for you new players when you see all the stuff that is dropping as you play POE it can be very overwhelming. What is worth picking up? What should I drop? What is useful? What is great for selling? There are a million things no doubt running through your mind. Skill Gems

Skill Gems are like the hot chicks (or guys) in a club. If you see one you better pick it up no matter if you do not have any kind of use for it. People need Skill Gems all the time, especially if they are trying to put together something pretty epic. This is when you will find a player looking for that specific Skill Gem to finish their set, you can swoop in, sell it and make a little money. Money that can help you get more POE Orbs!

Unique Items

Unique Items are always worth picking up because as far as base items go they are the least common rarity. While many Unique Items can be sold some cannot. Still pick them up though as you can use those ones to get a Orb Of Chance recipe from a vendor. If you sell one of each rarity of an item, Jade Amulet for example to a vendor then you will be given five Orbs Of Chance.

Vendor Recipes Items

We just mentioned how you can use Unique Items to deal with vendors well that is true for other items as well. If you are new to the game then you may not want to dabble in this kind of thing yet, but if you do find any of these items do not just ignore them put them in your stash tab for a rainy day.

Chromatic Orbs: Items with three different color sockets linked together should always be picked up as you can sell to a vendor to get Chromatic Orbs.

Jewelers Orbs: Six socketed items that you pick up can be a lot of help as you can exchange them for Jewelers Orbs.

Chisel Recipe: The following items if picked up, Rock Breakers, Stone Hammers and Gavels are what is used for the Chisel recipe.

Flasks

In the earlier levels of Path Of Exile when you are not worried about where to buy POE Orbs and are just trying to enjoy the game. Keep an eye out for Flasks. Early on you should have the chance to pick up a fair few Quicksilver Flasks, but we suggest you pick up any Flasks, you can get your little digital hands on. Flasks are not something that you will be really dealing with early on in the game, but as you progress and you start to see HP and Mana Flasks drop you can use Orbs Of Transmutation on them this can potentially give you the opportunity to make some good POE currency as when you transmutate a Flask that is high level, you have a very, very good chance to actually roll good flasks.
