Initial Release Date
An initial Korean release date of April 29, 2015 has been rumored. However, there is no officially confirmed date.

Closed Best Testing (January 2015)
The CBT was announced in late November of 2014. It was open to all previous MapleStory 2 testers, as well as an additional 10,000 people. The CBT introduced many new features such as: PvP, guilds, new monsters and bosses, new maps, more mini-games, a level cap of 35, and plenty of refinements over the alpha version.

Alpha Testing (September 2014)
A brief Alpha test took place in September for people that had acquired an access key. Players applied to be an Alpha Tester through the Maplestory 2 official website. This test run was open to a larger group of people compared to the earlier Supporter's Day test at Nexon Korea's Headquarters. It provided a chance for testers to check out some of MS2's content, such as its customization features, mini-games, and bosses. The level cap in the phase was 25.

Supporter's Day (August 2014)
A select group of supporters were given the opportunity to test the game for a few hours on August 15, 2014 at Nexon Korea's headquarters.
